Voice Actor
My voice is warm and grounded, with an easy, intelligent feel that’s comfortable to listen to. It’s a blend of Australian warmth and British sophistication. I speak clearly and naturally, with just enough curiosity and subtle playfulness to keep things engaging. I also have strong comic timing and a knack for character work when the script calls for it.

Voice Reels
I didn’t remember the book had so many funny moments until I listened to the audiobook and some small details and inflections caught my attention. I also have to praise Brigid Lohrey for the merriment she was able to transmit in Elizabeth’s voice, she captured her teasing manner perfectly.

Audiobooks
I’m an actor, and I love storytelling and creating characters. I adore narrating cozy Romances, such as the Rivers End Series and The Waratah Inn Series , where you get to know the whole world of the books and fall in love with the characters and the quirky extended towns folk too.
Anything set in a historical British setting I love too. With it’s heightened RP accents and the deliciously eccentric characters. I’ve been lucky enough to narrate several of Elizabeth Adams’ Books and Pamela Lynne’s Books, which are all in the JAFF world (Jane Austen Fan Fiction) and these retellings or reimaginings of the characters lives is always fun and surprising. (I have just binged The Other Bennet Sister too on BBC as I just love this kind of work!)
I get engrossed in the Thrillers and Mysteries and enjoy the suspense of what will happen next! A Mother’s Confession was one of my favourite books with a twist you will not see coming. Other books by Vanessa Garbin I’ve narrated have kept me on my toes too.
Nonfiction wise I’m very good at biographies and autobiographies, especially those strong women who have been through it and have a tale to tell. Stop Being Reasonable and I’m Too Old for This Sh*t are two such books, long with Self Care for Tough Times.
My pseudonym, Brie, loves the erotic novels and I’m good at bringing humour and spice to those narrations!
All of these Genres I’ve narrated in Australian, British and also American accents and I’m comfortable in all three accents narrating a whole book. I have also had characters with accents that cover regional Australia, most of the regional British Isles and several European and American accents too.
Fantasy is a genre that I’ve not narrated yet, but it is a genre I love to read myself – give me a sexy vampire or strapping werewolf any day or add in a dollop of Magic, Witches and Dragons and I’m sold! I’d love to use my storytelling skills to bring these to life too, sharing my passion with the listener.

“I like Brigid because she tells the same story I am telling, but she tells it better. She has excellent comedic timing and can make you cry when she needs to. We have done three books together so far, and she is always professional and flexible. Each character has a distinct voice and is consistent throughout the recording. I couldn’t recommend her more!”

This was my first time listening to narrator Brigid Lohrey and I thought she wielded a great talent to handle such a large cast of characters of gender, age, and class distinction even some regional dialect changes were evident. She put emotion and pacing to good use. I definitely want more of her work.
